2 piece
Two piece rims are for fixed axles only. Two piece rims usually come with the bearings inside them and one of the four with come with sprocket mounting holes already drilled into it. We advise you to be careful if using a two piece rim because they are notorious for blowing apart. The two piece rim is not sealed and requires an inner tube. This will make them easier to replace in the field if necessary though but if you hit a rock too hard it may burst apart. So we advise you not to jump any go cart with these types of rims.
Solid Rim
A solid rim can have either inner or outer type bearings meaning that the wheels can be fixed to the axle or the can be free moving. A solid rim allows for a much sturdier wheel and can be used for pose axles and fixed axles alike. Solid rims are sealed and do not require an inner tube but they can also be used with one if desired/ and inner tube must be specifically asked for because default solid rims will be beaded lip seal.
Pressed Rim
A pressed rim is just like the solid rim except it cannot have inner bearings or used with an inner tube. These rims are pressed onto the axle to keep them from slipping. These type rims usually have the biggest tires and sizes available.
