Off Road Go Cart Frames

In this article, we're going to discuss the various types of material that are used to construct off road go cart frames:

Aluminum Frames
The aluminum frame is the most desirable because of it’s resistance to bending its light weight, and the strength to weight ratio. The off road frames will usually have roll cages and have bigger wheel wells and engine mounts for oversized motors. This isn’t always the case but the better ones do. Aluminum will flex without staying bent which is perfect for any off road tracks that have jumps. Aluminum is the most desirable but it is also the hardest to work with making it more expensive than all other material.

Steel Frames
Steel is the most common choice used in go cart frames and is the cheapest and easiest material to work with. It is heavy though and some parts may need to be reinforced but over all we consider this a very good choice as long as you not doing high speed jump with it.

Wood Frames
A wooden go cart is strictly for low speeds and cannot be driven on even the minimal rough surface. These are intended for kids who are not going to be riding out of parent supervision.
